Biography

Graduated in 2008 with a B. S. in Electrical Engineering at San Diego State University, Gastón Portugal has a passion for his career. Recently, he was part of a team working on an enhanced pedestrian tracking system (JAGR2).This innovative project was developed as a senior design project. It combines two existing technologies: an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and GPS satellite reception.
Aside from his interest in Electronics, Gastón Portugal has a passion for music, visual arts, and the wilderness. |

Coming from a musical family, Gastón has a deep appreciation for music. Besides popular music, he admires masterpieces by famous composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff to name just a few. Currently, Gastón is studying Solfeggio and music theory, and is learning the piano as its main instrument.
