Under his electrical engineering major, Gastón has taken several computer engineering courses to complement his electronic knowledge. They have provided him great programming skills in languages such as C++, Assembly Code, and VHDL.

Projects

• Programmed a FPGA to perform Synchronous Serial Data transfer.
• Built a VGA control using an FPGA to send data out to a monitor.
• Serial communication using a microcontroller and Widows HyperTerminal.
• Using C++ programming, and an 8-bit matrix keyboard, a 16-bit microcontroller was programmed to generate different tones and simulate and toy piano. The piano was able to record  and playback musical notes.
• Using a Pulse Width Modulator module in a microcontroller a computer fan speed was controlled.
• A system comprising of microprocessor, memory, and input/output devices was implemented and verified using PLD/FPGA development systems tools
